AliExpress has recently introduced a series of new policies, ranging from localized inventory preparation driven by EU tax reforms to stricter compliance requirements regarding product warning labels and VAT. Sellers urgently need to adjust their operational strategies.
We have summarized the most impactful recent regulations to help sellers respond promptly.
1. AliExpress is strictly enforcing the “Four-Part Compliance Package” for the EU
In preparation for the 2026 EU tax reforms, AliExpress reminds sellers to ensure they have completed the “Four-Part Compliance Package” and to steadily advance their overseas inventory preparations. Sellers must register for and submit VAT in the country of origin. We recommend that POP sellers transition to full or semi-consignment by the end of March to enhance their risk resilience in the future.
The Four-Part Compliance Package includes:
✅ Qualification Compliance (certifications, testing, and proofs required by product categories)
✅ DOC Compliance (Declaration documents required for EU CE compliance)
✅ Instruction Manual Compliance (At least one Chinese/English version must be uploaded; the platform provides automatic translation for other languages)
✅ EU Authorized Representative Compliance (To avoid account suspension due to invalid or expired representatives)
Currently, products that do not meet compliance requirements are being progressively suspended. The platform is also strengthening verification of EU responsible parties and mandating that sellers upload valid EU Authorized Representative agreements. Sellers are advised to select officially certified service providers.
2. New Compliance Requirements for EU Product Warning Information
Recently, AliExpress has added reference materials for warning statements (English versions) for certain product categories, including warning labels for products containing coin/button batteries, as well as warning information for infant swim rings, disinfection products, child safety car seats, health supplements, smartwatches, and more.
Sellers must ensure that products actually sold to the EU market comply with the requirements of the respective EU destination countries. Ensure that relevant warning and safety information is included on product packaging, labels, instruction manuals, and other related documents, so that consumers can access the necessary product safety information.
3. New EU Energy Efficiency Labeling Requirements
Recently, AliExpress issued a compliance notice regarding EU energy efficiency labeling requirements, expanding the scope of products subject to these requirements to include household fireplaces. Relevant sellers are required to complete registration and ensure their products bear energy efficiency labels that meet the standards.
Additionally, sellers must provide the platform with their energy efficiency label registration numbers to ensure compliance and avoid product restrictions. Cross-Border Seller Advisor offers cost-effective, one-stop EU energy efficiency label services. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
4. Countdown to the Spanish Pan-European VAT Extension Deadline
AliExpress reminds sellers that for products shipped from Spain to other EU countries (Pan-European sales), Pan-European VAT registration must be completed as soon as possible. The platform has granted a temporary extension until March 31, 2026.
If registration is not completed by the deadline, sellers’ ability to ship from Spain to other EU countries will be suspended. Therefore, affected sellers must complete formal Pan-European VAT registration before the deadline, successfully link it in the backend, and contact Cross-Border Seller Advisors to ensure compliance.
5. AliExpress 328 Mega Sale is Coming Soon
As the first major promotion of the year, the AliExpress 328 Anniversary Sale will run from March 11 to March 15 for the pre-sale period, with the official sale taking place from March 16 to March 25 (based on local time zones in key countries). Electronics, gadgets, fashion, and home goods will be available at discounts of up to 90%.
This year’s promotion will focus on core markets including Spain, South Korea, the Netherlands, the UK, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and the US. Additionally, cross-border shipping speeds will be accelerated across 25 countries, reducing average delivery times by 3–7 days and significantly enhancing the customer fulfillment experience.
